Hello!
Today I have an exciting project to share with you!
I always LOVE seeing what everyone makes for the Lawn Fawn challenges! The standard of the pieces that crafters create just seems to get better with each one – giving us all so much inspiration and many ideas for when we get the time to sit down and get some crafting done!
Unfortunately – that time is so limited for me at the moment. With a bub about to crawl and my nearly four year old averaging about nine trillion questions per day, I often catch the very end of each challenge and think “I wish I had seen that earlier! Maybe next time” – wash, rinse, repeat!
It just so happens that I saw a few of the first cards being made with the #homeiswheretheheartischallenge on instagram and realised that the challenge had just begun and that I could make enough time to join in if I wanted to!
I thought about where I live – Queensland. And thought that maybe, even though I caught the challenge early, that I would sit this one out. With each card that popped up, the work was beautiful and the meaning behind every stamp was clear and told a story – was Queensland interesting enough for this?
After a quick search of “iconic Queensland landmarks” it was clear that my brain has officially turned to mush with the lack of sleep and there was definitely enough going on in this state to make a card! in fact, I ended up with too many ideas and had to limit myself to what I could make fit (although, I still somehow managed to blow the budget and grab two more stamp sets that I’ve had my eye on – oops!).
Even with having to wait for my new stamps to arrive, this card came together so easily once I had the ideas – and I would even say that after remembering all of these great things about Queensland exist (except the toad) I’m very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world!
I love how this card turned out. I feel like it really does capture some of the things that I love about Queensland and some of the things that make it unique!

One piece of my card that I didn’t talk about as it was a quick, last minute addition was the red frame. This was used to represent GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) in Brisbane. Although I have no professional training in any form of creative work, I really did enjoy art as a school subject and we travelled to GOMA, yearly to view different exhibitions.
I’m a fairly quiet person. If it weren’t for my husband and children living in the same house as me I could probably go days without feeling the need to talk. So places like art galleries where its usually cool, quiet and full of beautiful things to look at have always appealed to me.
I hope to get back to GOMA sometime soon as it’s been years since I’ve been able to visit!

Sometimes we forget just how wonderful our country really is.
We use to live in the Blue Mountains but now we live down south is sheep and cattle country.
