Now that the awkwardness and fear of my first blog post is over, it’s time to dive in to some good stuff!
This year is the second year I’m hosting Christmas Crafts Nights at my house.
It’s been a tad tricky to organise this year with being six months pregnant, loads of projects to complete, house to organise before baby comes etc – but I’ve managed to come up with a few simple crafts to get some friends into my house for a night of fun!
I found these fillable snow globes at Riot Art & Craft during their Boxing Day sales last year and grabbed them at 50% off. I knew I’d get around to using them eventually!
The snowflakes were done with permanent vinyl from vinylworld.com.au – super cheap and great quality, perfect for a beginner like myself! The pattern for the snowflake can be found here: https://shop.loriwhitlock.com/milk-cookies-snowflake/
I then tipped the dome over and started filling it with glitter, sequins, pearls and fake snow.
It was then onto the little bunnies! I was so lucky to get my hands on one of Lawn Fawn’s limited edition stamp sets (a true feat for some in Australia!). I coloured these with Copics and Sharpies.
The birch trees were made with a Lawn Fawn die, the new embossing pen and some white embossing powder. I made the trees three layers thick so that they could hold themselves up and had a bit more dimension. All of the pieces were then glued down and left to dry for a few hours.
Once everything was dry, it was time to put the bauble back together. I did this upside down as the globe was full of sparkly things. I then added some washi tape around the base and a bit of the Lawn Fawn “Lawn Trimmings” red and white twine to finish it off.
With these particular globes, the piece where the bunnies were glued and the cap with the washi tape are separate and had an empty space between them. I went onto eBay and found some tiny LED balloon lights and put one between the two layers to light it up!

As for the vinyl, I stuck it on the outside of the globe, it stuck really well and looks pretty seamless 🙂
