Crafting has been a little slow on my end, but this week I just had to make some time to play with my new items that arrived in my Lawn Fawn order!
I only get the chance to order from Lawn Fawn once a year for my birthday (yay for 10% off, cute freebie and it usually lines up with a new release too!).
I was super keen to try out the new stencils and my birthday stamp, so here is what I came up with.

I started off cutting some white card for my background and some orange card for my card base (I later changed the card base to one of my big 5×7, plain white cards as I thought the orange was too plain and wanted to get a bit more creative.
I used the new alphabet die by Lawn Fawn, Oliver’s Stitched ABCs (another new item I needed an excuse to use!) in the same orange card stock, stamped and coloured in my two images. I used both birthday freebies from both this year and last year.
It was then time to use my stencils! I used my favourite shade of blue in my oxide ink collectection – Peacock Feathers with my blending brush. I love the stencils just as much as I hoped I would. I highly recommend them and can’t wait to use them again!
To finish my simple background I used the grass stencil, using a few shades of green. I then sprayed a little water over the background for texture and added a few splashes of the Liquid Stardust as I LOVE adding a bit of sparkle to everything I make.
It was then time to start lining everything up. I used some tiny foam squares on the back of the “party” letters and the present that the koala is holding to add a bit of dimension.
As you can see below, I stamped some presents around the edges of the white card and used a bit of ink blending over them to really tie all the colours and pieces of this card together.
For even more dimension I wanted to use some of my new Nuvo drops in this funky orange colour to keep the theme going. I saw on a YouTube video quite a while ago that if you don’t know where you want to put your drops at first, you and squirt some onto some baking/parchment paper (I used the backing for a finished sheet of foam squares) and wait for them to dry, peel them off and play with the placement before gluing them down.
I can confirm that this works, and it works WELL! I was so impressed I will be doing this from now on. I would recommend waiting overnight for the drops to dry. I only waited a few hours and while they came off the sheet easily, one or two of them were slightly pushed out of their perfectly round shape as I handled them.
I hope you love this card as much as I enjoyed making it! I think it turned out super cute and I can’t wait to send it off to someone who may be stuck inside for their birthday in the coming weeks!
