Hello!

It’s been a long while since I’ve updated my blog – oops!

At the beginning of each year, I hope that it’s going to be a quiet one, maybe just a few little things to focus on. And every year I’m laughed at by the universe.

2022 has so far brought torrential rain, flooding, school closures, our big kid starting prep, health issues, house projects, milestone birthdays to plan for and more. Pure chaos.

But the one thing that keeps me going through these wild times is putting my headphones on, sitting at my table and setting my hands to work with card stock, stamps and ink.

My work for Hobby Hoppers is something that I truly look forward to each month. I love the trust Trish (the owner of this amazing small business) has in me to create beautiful things with the materials she stocks in her craft online store.

Today’s card is the first that I have created using products from the new Summer 2022 Lawn Fawn release. I was INSTANTLY drawn to the crafty supplies in the form of stamps, stencils and dies. While I will definitely be grabbing more from this release from Hobby Hoppers soon, I just had to add these crafty themed items to my stash immediately.

I have mentioned many times in the past that I would LOVE a set similar to “Baked with Love” and “Sewn with Love” but with craft supplies. I feel like these are the sets I’ve been waiting for!

This card features one of my favourite, recent additions to my collection – the Platform Pop Up Die Set. I have been having SO much fun making interactive cards with this die, it’s so versatile and very easy to use.

I felt like this quote is such an important one for myself and my crafty friends to remember! It’s very easy to slip down the path of comparing your work, especially around new release time when so many amazing pieces are being shown.
I’ve made lots of card now, some I love, most I wonder if they’re good enough to share. But something can be learned from all of them, even the ones that don’t turn out how I’d hoped.

I hope you’ll share more of your crafty work!

Here is my video tutorial for how this card was made:
