Hello!

Today I have a bit of a different post to share with you!

Despite creating lots of content for YouTube, I don’t actually have much time to watch many videos, myself. Between the two little ones, keeping the house in some kind of (barely above complete disaster) order, blog writing, recording, editing, voiceovers etc, time just gets away from me and I rarely get to keep up with the wonderful crafts that are being shared everyday.

I took some time on the weekend to watch some of Jennifer McGuire’s videos. She’s one of the crafters I like to look to when I’m feeling in a bit of a slump.

I watched a video on “Trapped Inking”. I hadn’t heard this term before or seen it in action. I LOVED IT! Here is the link to the original video if you’d like to watch it too: https://youtu.be/lXawg2xzt1Q

I feel like this technique is one of things that seems obvious to try out – coloured ink under clear embossing powder, then inking a background colour over everything, “trapping” the coloured ink underneath. But it had never crossed my mind to do it, so I’m very thankful for this video that clearly showed all the steps.

I felt so inspired to try this technique for myself, I immediately set to work with one of the only background stamps that I own.

I really love how it turned out, but honestly I’m now wishing I had more background stamps to try this out with. I will most likely do another one soon with smaller stamps and see how I go with that!

If you’d like to see how this card came together, my tutorial link is below!
