Hello!

I am so excited to share this card with you today!

I have been so busy I really thought I wouldn’t make it in time to share a baby card during World Breastfeeding Week, but here we are! (the things you can get done when your oldest goes to Kindy and your baby finally agrees that day naps are amazing!).

Speaking of my babies, my daughter turned 6 months old this week – which just happened to mean we hit our own breastfeeding goal of six months! Something that I truly never thought would happen given the complications with our son and the start we had with her. So it’s a special week to celebrate and be grateful for how far we’ve come since she joined our little family at the beginning of the year.

Now onto this card!

As soon as I saw this stamp set by Waffle Flower, it got stuck in my head. I knew I NEEDED to get it as soon as my budget allowed. While looking at the beautiful, intricate designs of this set, I decided that I would also need the matching dies (very rare for me) as I knew cutting these images out would be far too tricky.

How adorable is this set?

When Lawn Fawn announced their new Summer 2020 release and I saw that Stitched Rainbow Die Set, I knew these two would be the perfect match! So… I may have blown my budget just a little bit in July.

Rainbow Babies are such magical little being worth celebrating. I think these sets work wonderfully together to this. I can’t wait to recreate this card in other colourways and to match baby shower/nursery themes in the future.

I love how the colour scheme came together for this card. I feel like it was really important to do a card in neutrals/skin tones as a way of representing all babies and mummas, especially during this month!

With everything that’s been going on in the world with the BLM movement I’ve been doing my part (which is a little tricky, but not impossible on the other side of the planet) by researching areas in which I can share/bring awareness to certain issues or obstacles that I can at least shed light on.

One of the main ones that stood out to me, most likely because it’s such a relatable part of every few hours of my life at the moment – was the need for Black Breastfeeding Week, held during the last week of August every year. I didn’t even know this was a thing! Let alone it is something that is very much needed.

If you’re interested in knowing why this is such an important issue, this list from last year is a great place to start: https://www.mothermag.com/black-breastfeeding-week/

While it may not affect you personally, I’ve learned that it never hurts to be a bit more educated in areas that affect other people and their health and wellbeing. Especially babies – we all want to see them get the best start possible so that they grow into healthy and happy humans!

I hope this card is worthy of representing such important events happening all over the world this month!
